The Ross Langdon Testimonial Cricket Match

On March 16th 2014, The Ross Langdon Testimonial Cricket Match took place in Forsyth Park, Sydney. Organised by friends of Ross’, Paul McGrath and Drew Heath, the day was a chance to gather together to play some cricket and raise awareness and donations for the Scholarship Fund.

The Langdon family are humbled by the love and care expressed for Ross and Elif and were keen to be involved with such a heart warming event with so many people expressing positive energy into what has been a very sad few months. A fantastic sum of $1234.70 was raised for the Fund. Thank-you to everyone for your generous contributions, we are looking forward to awarding the first Scholarship in late 2014.

Below is some further information that Paul wrote for the event:

Ross Langdon was an excellent cricketer.

An Orangeman (No. 14) he was an excellent tall bowler and flashy, 6-hitting batsman with an athletic ability on and off the field. He was a very talented sportsman who once played AGAINST the likes of Shane Warne and Tubsy Taylor in 1996!

The Cricket Match was between The Orangemen (Proudly pumping out 110 cricketers/boozehounds since 2003) and The Architects, captained by award-winning Architect and noted late-innings specialist Drew Heath.

Thanks to all who attended the match, torrential storms and BBQ and great shirts and organic cricket match and the great innings from Linden Langdon made it an excellent day. We will do this again next year!

Cheers
Paul McGrath
